FAQ

Q:  How much space does the GameStreet Game Theater require?

A:  The GameStreet Truck and Trailer combination will require approximately 50 feet of parking space.  In the case of a party being held at a private residence, this space should be in front of the home against the curb.  Additional space is required to pull into and out of the space at the beginning and end of the party.  If 50 feet of space is not available, the Truck and Trailer can be disconnected and the Truck moved to another location;  in this case the trailer will require 28 feet of space.  *note:  There will be a small additional charge to disconnect the Trailer due to the additional time required.

Q:  How many participants can play at the same time?
A:  Up to 12 players can play inside, and an additional 8 can play outside.  Additional activities can be added to the Game Party to include more participants.
In addition, the Game Theater is fully wired with both a self contained Local Area Network (LAN), which allows competitive or cooperative play between systems in the Theater, as well as optional access to the global internet which allows online, or private party gaming with “remote” participants … so your nephew in California can still participate in the party !!

Q:  Is there an age limit?
A:  GameStreet is great fun for everyone – however we recommend that participants be able to follow verbal instruction and have appropriate hand/eye coordination.  Our suggested minimum age is 5 years.

Q:  What is your refund/cancellation policy?
A:  The full amount is due upon confirmation of booking.  If you cancel your event with 14 or more days advance notice you will receive a 50% refund, cancellations with less than 14 days notice are not entitled to a refund.

Q:  What if I need to reschedule?
A:  We highly recommend rescheduling rather than cancelling an event and will make every effort to accommodate these changes.  Change requests made 14 or more days in advance of the originally schedule date/time will be honored at no additional cost based on availability.  Change requests made less than 14 days in advance of the originally scheduled event will incur a $50 change fee and will be honored based on availability.

Q:  What games are available?
A:  GameStreet maintains an extensive library of the latest games for PS3, Xbox, and Wii across all ESRB ratings.  If you have specific game or platform requests, please let us know at the time of booking, or any time prior to your event and we will make every effort to make sure we have it on board.

Q:  Can I request or restrict specific games?
A:  Yes.  We will make every effort to make sure requested games are available.  We are also very aware that parents have different standards in terms of what they want their children exposed to – for that reason, part of the GameStreet booking process is the selection of a “maximum ESRB rating” – NO games will be played that exceed that rating.  Likewise, if there are specific games you want excluded, just let us know and we’ll make sure they don’t get played.

Q:  What do the various ESRB Ratings mean?
A:  From the ESRB site:
“The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) ratings are designed to provide concise and impartial information about the content in computer and video games so consumers, especially parents, can make an informed purchase decision”
GameStreet provides games rated:
    “E” – Everyone
    “E-10” – Everyone 10 and over
    “T” – Teen
    “M” - Mature

Q:   What about the weather?
A:  Weather will rarely be a factor in GameStreet parties.  The game theater is fully self powered and climate controlled, the exterior gaming stations are covered with a weather-proof awning and exterior heaters are available if necessary.  In the unusual event that the weather is severe enough to prevent the party from occurring, it will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed date and time.

Q:  Can I have food or drink inside the GameStreet Trailer?
A:  Due to the amount of electronic equipment in the Game Theater, we require that all food and drink remain outside.

Q:  Do parents need to supervise?
A:  We do require at least one responsible adult be on-site for the entire event.  We find that parents often have as much fun in and around the Game Theater as the children – and are more than welcome to participate, but it is not required.
Each event is hosted by at least one Game Coach and an Event Coordinator – ensuring that there is supervision both inside and outside the Game Theater.

Q:  Do you need to plug in to the house electrical system?
A:  No.  The Game Theater is fully self contained and self powered.

Q:  Do you furnish food or drinks?
A:  No.  We furnish the fun – you furnish the food.

Q:  Is it appropriate to tip the Game Coach or Event Coordinator?
A:  Gratuity is not required but always appreciated.

Q:  How much does a game party cost?
A:  Pricing is extremely competitive and varies from event to event.  Please utilize our booking system to inquire about specific pricing for your event and date.

Q:  Are there any additional costs for travel?
A:  Travel anywhere on Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk counties) is included.  Additional charges may apply for events outside of Long Island – please call 800-557-9028 to inquire.
